Creative City Yamagata について
2017年にユネスコ創造都市ネットワークに加盟認定された山形市は、今、世界に認められたそのクリエイティブのちからを活用して、産業を興し、経済をドライブし、持続可能なまちづくりを進めていこうとしています。
2022年には、創造都市拠点となる「やまがたクリエイティブシティセンターQ1」が立ち上がるとともに、まちの有識者や経済人との幾つもの対話を通して制作された「創造都市やまがたミッション・ステートメント」を発表。創造都市としての姿勢を宣言しました。
このWebサイト「Creative City Yamagata」は、このミッション・ステートメントのもとに展開されてゆく、「創造都市やまがた」のクリエイティブ・ムーブメントをアナウンス、レポート、アーカイブするものです。
About “Creative City Yamagata”
Since becoming a part of the UNESCO Creative City Network in 2017, Yamagata City has channeled its globally recognized creative energy to foster industry, drive economic growth, and build a more sustainable city. In 2022, the Yamagata Creative City Center Q1 opened as a base for these efforts, and extensive conversations were held with local experts and business leaders to craft a Mission Statement that defines Yamagata City’s identity and direction as a creative city. This website announces, reports, and archives the creative movements growing out of this Mission Statement, keeping a record of what’s happening and where things are headed.
創造都市やまがたミッション・ステートメント
ユネスコ創造都市ネットワークに加盟認定された山形市は、映画をはじめ音楽やアート、デザイン、伝統工芸、食文化などさまざまな分野において優れた地域資産をもつ都市です。山形市はこれから「創造都市やまがた」として、市民、事業者、行政が連携し、創造性を産業へとつなぎ、新たな経済活動や人材創出を図りながら、持続的発展が可能な都市づくりを進めます。

“Creative City Yamagata” Mission Statement
A designated member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, Yamagata City has a remarkable array of regional strengths in the fields of film, music, art, design, traditional crafts, food culture, and more. As “Creative City Yamagata,” we will bring our citizens, businesses, and government together to explore ways to connect creativity with industry, creating new economic opportunities, cultivating new talent, and paving the way for a sustainable future.
Creative City Yamagata:
- will share the significance of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network with all of our citizens while engaging with the world
- values diversity and mutual respect, and will facilitate encounters between many different people and ideas
- will foster an environment where people can proactively learn from one another, develop their creativity, and take on new challenges
- will care for and pass on the traditions, culture, and rich natural environment that define this region
- will connect people and ideas through creativity, bringing new value to daily life and industry
