Q1には様々なテナントが入り、様々なモノやサービスが並びます。売る者と買う者という関係性や、売ったり買ったりという経済活動が日々生まれています。しかしここでまず注目したいのは、そこに至る以前に「Q1にはいつも新しい出会いや発見がある」ということ。そう、Q1は出会いの場なのです。
ユネスコ創造都市ネットワークへの加盟認定を受けた山形市に生きる私たちにとって大切なことは、世界が認めたこのまちの「創造性」をこれからの産業や暮らしや人材育成や、都市の持続的発展につなぐこと。やまがたクリエイティブシティセンターQ1はそのための拠点です。オープンから半年、すでにQ1は芸術文化を愛するひとやクリエイターが集う場所となり、多くのみなさまに開かれた場所となっています。毎月第1日曜にはデイマルシェが、第4木曜の夜にはナイトマルシェが開かれたり、子どもたちを対象にした学びと遊びの融合ワークショップ「PLAY Q」など様々なイベントが続いています。ここに来れば誰か面白い人に出会える、ここに来れば何か新しい発見に出会える。新しい交流に、新しい創造に、新しいビジネスに、新しい賑わいに、新しい未来に出会うことができる…という物語が現在進行中です。
ぜひQ1においでください。剥き出しの壁に触れるだけで、百年の歴史に出会うこともできます。Q1はただの商業施設ではありません。

A Place of New Encounters
and Creative Collaborations

At Q1, you can find a variety of tenants along with a diversity of products and services, and this naturally translates into daily economic transactions between buyers and sellers. But we would like to take a moment to consider that this springs from the fact that at Q1, people are continually coming into contact with new people and new things. In other words, Q1 is a place of new encounters.
For those of us who live in Yamagata city, a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, it is important to consider how to put the globally-recognized creative potential of our city to use in our industries, our daily lives, our human resource development, and towards the sustainable development of this city, and the Yamagata Creative City Center Q1 can serve as a base for this movement. In the ten months since its opening, Q1 has already become a hub for those who love art, culture and creating things, and it is a place that is open to all. Day markets are held on the first Sunday and night markets are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, and a host of other events have taken place here as well, including the “Play Q” workshop for children which combines learning with play. When you come to Q1, you are sure to meet someone interesting, or discover something new. The story of Q1 is an ongoing story of new interactions, new creations, new businesses, new bustle and activity – and a new future.
Come to Q1, and put your hands on the exposed inner walls of the building to feel the century-long history of this facility. While this a place where commercial transactions take place, it doesn’t take much to realize that Q1 is about so much more than that.
